Tooth preparation involves minimal grinding of about 0.3-0.5 mm within the limits of the tooth enamel, which is often nearly imperceptible. An impression is then taken to create the final veneers, and temporary veneers that are indistinguishable from the permanent ones are placed.
Fixing the veneers to the teeth involves preparing both the teeth and the veneers for bonding, using special bonding materials for cementing, and then polishing the surface.
